Graduated in History from the University of Lisbon and post-graduated in Arts Management from INA - General Directorate for Public Service Work Qualification / CCB - Centro Cultural de Belém. Journalist and dance critic. Host of cultural programmes for radio and television. Author and co-author of several editions on dance and contemporary performing arts.
Curator for dance and theatre at the Modern Art Centre of the Gulbenkian Foundation (1995 to 2003) and at Teatro Viriato, in Viseu (since its foundation in 1996 until 2021). Vice-President of the Institute of the Arts of the Ministry of Culture from 2003 to 2005. Coordinator of the Music Education sector at Gulbenkian Foundation from 2005 to 2008, Executive Coordinator of the Gulbenkian Education for Culture Program from 2008 to 2012.
Member of the Education and Culture working groups (OMC) established by the European Commission in 2008/2009 and 2014/15. Director of DESCOBRIR - Gulbenkian Education for Culture and Science Program from 2013 to 2017.
Advisor to EGEAC's Board of Directors for the educational area, responsible for the planning and strategic development of DESCOLA, an instrument for art education policies of the Lisbon Municipality from 2017 to 2022.
Currently Deputy Director of the Culture Programme of the Gulbenkian Foundation (since 2023) and President of the Advisory Council of the National Plan for the Arts (since 2019).
